El Centro Asturiano de NY acaba de contribuir al proyecto de INVISIBLE IMMIGRANTS (Spaniards in the US 1868-1945). Creado por James D. Fernández y Luis Argeo, profesor en NYU y periodista respectivamente, ambos Asturianos, este proyecto documenta la emigración española a los EEUU desde medianos del siglo 19 a medianos del siglo 20. La intención es de publicar un libro de fotografías, archivos, y documentos para preservar su memoria. El libro es solo un hito de un labor mas amplio de crear un archivo digital para contar la historia de los inmigrantes españoles que vinieron a este país. Nosotros apoyamos este proyecto cultural. Consideramos que es una parte muy importante de nuestra historia y el libro ayudaría a crecer y fortalecer nuestra biblioteca.
