ASTURIAS CULTURAL ASSOCIATION

Who are we?

The New York Asturian Cultural Association was created with the purpose of identify and unite the Asturians and their descendents in the New York metropolitan area.

With around thirty Asturian families, Celso González created the New York Asturian Cultural Association on December 12th 1995. The first headquarters were located in the Mesón Asturias, in Elmhurst (Queens). Since then, this Association has been a meeting point for Asturians, Spaniards, Latinos whose ancestors were Asturians and friends of Asturias that live in the New York metropolitan area.

Now the Asturian Cultural Association has more than one hundred family members and is part of the Asturian Centers International Federation (Federación Internacional de Centros Asturianos - FICA). Even though we don't have a physical meeting place per say, we carry out several activities aimed to encourage the new generations to keep their Asturian roots alive and to support morally those who left their homeland many years ago but still feel Asturians at heart.

We invite all Asturians, their descendents and friends to join us and participate in our activities.

¡Puxa Asturies!
